Gaëtane Prouvost

First price of Violin and Chamber music of the Conservatory of Paris, Gaëtane Prouvost continued its formation with the Juilliard School of New York at Ivan Galamian like number of the contemporary virtuosos. But its true Master will be Zino Francescatti, one of the large violonists of the century and single heir to the technique of Paganini. It devoted a biography to him and recorded a disc of its original compositions and transcriptions.

Gaëtane Prouvost is before a a whole Concert ist. Its play lends itself as well to the lightness of the repertory baroque, as with gravity Mozart ienne. He excels in the large romantic ones and restores with the contemporaries emotional quality and musical quality.

Dedicatee of several works, it is frequently invited by the Ensemble Intercontemporain where it plays under the direction of Kent Nagano, Gary Bertini and Pierre Boulez. Chosen by Olivier Messiaen, it is the interpreter of the Quatuor for the End of Time during its creation in the U.S.S.R.

Gaëtane Prouvost is also a chambrist which enjoys to make sing its violin with the listening of the others: No5el Lee, Laurent Cabasso, Emmanuel Strosser, Jean-Paul Sevilla, Anne Queffélec, Roland Pidoux, Bruno Canino, Yvan Chiffoleau, Jean-Philippe Collard, etc

Graduate of the Institute of higher learning of Pedagogy, it currently shares its activities between a career of soloist and teaching with the Conservatoire Higher National of Music of Paris as in various academies in France and abroad. Some of its pupils are as of today prizes winner of international big competitions.

Near Marie-Christine Barrault, Gaëtane Prouvost assembled a Littérature spectacle and Music entitled " Flight of nuit" , based on texts of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

The two sonatas of Prokofiev for violin and piano that Gaëtane Prouvost recorded at Forlane with Abdel Rahman El Bacha, caused the enthusiasm of the press (Disc Shock of the World of the Music).

Work for violin and piano of Gabriel Pierné was recorded with Laurent Cabasso for the label Integral Music (October 2006).
