Gaël Monfils

Gaël Monfils , born on September 1st, 1986 with Paris, is a player of Tennis French. His/her mother is inhabitant of Martinique and her father inhabitant of Guadeloupe. He discovers tennis at the four years age to Courneuve, in area Paris ienne.

2004

At 18 years, it cumulates the victories of junior category. It takes part then in the Tournoi of Wimbledon, without profiting from a classification of head of series: it passes the first turn by drawing aside the Swedish veteran Thomas Johansson, during a match where it will have served not less than 34 aces. It eliminates with the second round the Belgian Kristof Vliegen, on the tight score of 7-5 7-6 7-6. It is finally beaten with the third turn by the Russian Nikolai Davydenko, the head of series number 6. Gaël has for the moment never exceeded the third turn in Wimbledon. After the Large British Slam, it plays the Open of Gstaad in Switzerland (beaten Ground), where it takes its revenge on Nikolaï Davydenko, by eliminating it as of the first turn. It beats then the Czech Jiri Vanek, but loses in quarterfinals against its compatriot Paul-Henri Mathieu. It connects with the Tournoi of Stuttgart. He reiterates a beautiful performance, by drawing aside as of his entry on the lists the head of series number 2 of the tournament, Tommy Robredo. He nevertheless will be dominated with the second round by Jiri Vanek, that one even as he had beaten a few days before.
