GR. 5
This Path of great excursion (GR.) share of the the North Sea (Bergen COp Zoom) to join the Mediterranean with Nice in France, adding up 2600 kilometers of distance.
It passes to the Netherlands, in Belgium, with the Luxembourg, in France where it crosses the the Vosges and the the Jura, in Suisse where it continues again its crossing of the the Jura until the Lac Léman then in France for the North-South crossing of the the Alps of the Léman to the the Mediterranean.
Details
In Flanders, the GR. 5 passes close to or in the following cities: Herentals, Westerlo, Diest, Hasselt and Genk.
After a hook by Maastricht (NL) it returns in Belgium, more precisely in Wallonia where it develops 225 km, connecting Visé, Barchon, Banneux, Spa, Stavelot, Vielsalm and Burg-Reuland /Ouren.
Then, it penetrates with the Grand Duche du Luxembourg (Vianden and Diekirch).
In France it passes by Metz and Nancy then crosses the the Vosges of north to the south until Belfort.
Continuing towards the south, it crosses the the Jura until Nyon, in Suisse, at the edge of the Lac Léman.
It begins again in France, on the other side of the Léman, with Thonon to cross the Chablais and to join Chamonix.
It moves then towards the south by Borough-Saint-Maurice, Modane, Briançon, Saint-Véran, to finish with Nice
