Mobile GNOME And Embedded ( GMAE ) is the branch of GNOME adapted to the apparatuses of pocket, therefore a free Graphical interface resulting from the project GNU.

It includes/understands a whole of elements aiming at obtaining a platform which one finds under the name of Mobile GNOME Platform or Mobile GNOME & Embedded Platform ( GMEP ) , derived from GNOME for the personal assistants (or PDA like the Pocket PC), the advanced cellphones (or Smartphone S), the shelves Wi-Fi and other system baseds on comparable technologies.

GMAE is framed by the Mobile GNOME & Embedded Initiative (GMEI) , which manages its external integration, its promotion, its adequacy with GNOME desktop, its relationships to other projects like Avahi, BlueZ, Cairo, GPE, GStreamer, GTK+, Hildon, Maemo, MatchBox, OpenMoko, Telepathy and Tinymail

Among the present: Access, Canonical, Debian, Intel, Nokia, OLPC or Red Hat.
