Biography

The group is made known fine 2004 by two EPs successive (Bloc Party EP and Little Thoughts EP) which makes fury in the British and European boxes thanks to a Punk rock'n'roll of a new kind. The group leaves its first album Silent Alarm in February 2005, which is acclaimed at once by criticism although the first title " Helicopter" that is to say a complete plagiarism of a song of Jam: " Set the Ablaze" House;. The way in which Kele Okereke (which is of origin Nigerian) sings makes think some of Robert Smith of The Cure, whereas others do not see any similarity between the two singers. The group belongs to the nostalgic musical mobility of the British New wave of the the Eighties which emerges in this middle of the years 2000 with groups like Franz Ferdinand, Maxïmo Park, or The Bravery. In July 2005 the group records for the caritative project Help-A day in the life a new song, The Present . Other new songs are recorded by the group: The Tulips , American Kids , Storm & Stress , This is not has competition and Always New Depths . In January 2007 leaves the new individual heading The Prayer available on the album has Weekend in The City . This last between directly 10th of the French charts.

Next November, will leave new individual the Flux with a sound definitely electro. This song is not included in the last album.
