Güyük
Güyük , in Mongolian Güiug , (" ardent" , cf Turkish göyük ), wire of Ögödei, third wire of Gengis Khan and its principal wife Börte, born in 1206, and supreme third Khan of the Mongolian of 1246 to its death in 1248. His/her mother Töregene assumed the regency of 1241, date of died of Ögödei, at 1246.
The quriltay convened in summer 1246 with the source of Orkhon indicates Güyük like large khan. Batu, Master of the most powerful oulous and adversary of Güyük, does not assist to with it, pretexting a disease. The papal legate Jean de Plan Carpin, present, proposes in Güyük to convert with Christianity, but this one refuses.
Güyük continues the policy started with his/her mother and seeks to consolidate her capacity, substitute certain civils servant by right-hand men. By the nomination of Yissu Mangu, his cousin and personal friend, with the detriment of Hülegü like khan of Djaghataï, it dominates the Turkestan firmly, but avoids mixing with the businesses of his powerful cousin Batu.
Güyük dies in summer 1248 whereas it went towards the west with its army. Its widow, Oghul Qaïmich assumes regency until in 1251, date where the supreme capacity passed to Mongka (reign 1251 - 1259) then to Khubilaï (reign 1260 - 1294), both wire of Tolui, the fourth and the last wire of Genghis Khan and Börte.
Ögödéides, whose stronghold was centered on the Mongolia, were completely isolated thereafter capacity.
