Günther Reich
Günther (sometimes Günter ) Reich (born the November 22nd 1921 in Liegnitz, Germany, today Legnica, Poland - died the January 15th 1989 with Heidelberg) was a Baryton German naturalized Israeli, especially known for as interprets works of Arnold Schönberg in collaboration with the Leader Michael Gielen ( Moïse and Aron , Kol Nidré , a survivor of Warsaw …).
Reich came from a Jewish family. In 1934, this one left Germany Nazi and settled in Palestine. In 1958, Reich came to settle in the Federal Republic of Germany to study there the song with Berlin then with Mannheim. The weather was its scenic beginnings exceptionally late for a professional singer of row: it was forty years old when it sang Iago with Gelsenkirchen, in 1961. In 1968, he became member of the opera of Stuttgart, and in the years 1970, he was invited on all the large scenes of the world, in particular as interprets Wagnerian (Hans Sachs…). It is of this decade that date its artistic collaboration with Gielen, captured on disc and even with the screen (film Moïse and Aron of Straub and Huillet).
