Géza von Radványi
Géza von Radványi , born the September 26th 1907 with Košice (in current the Slovakia) and dead the November 27th 1986 with Budapest (Hungary), was a realizer, scenario writer and producing Hungarian.
Biography
Born in what was still the Austria-Hungary, Géza von Radványi symbolizes what was a popular cinema of the years 50 with 60 trying to compete with the Hollywood studios thanks to its European coproductions.During the Years 1950, one will retain Femmes without name (senza Gives names) with Simone Simon and Francoise Rosay (1950), the Strange desire of Mr Bard , with Michel Simon and Genevieve Page (1953), and especially the success which obtained its remake of Young girls in uniform (Mädchen in Uniform) with Lilli Palmer, Marthe Mercadier and the young rising high-speed motorboat Romy Schneider (1958). One will still quote, at the end of the same decade, Twelve hours of clock (Ihr Verbrechen war Liebe) , a thriller on a scenario signed Boileau and Narcejac, with Lino Ventura and Laurent Terzieff, then a pretty comedy, Miss Ange (Ein Engel auf Erden) with Romy Schneider and Henri Vidal (1959).
During Years 1960, even more ambitious and creditable, its imposing coproductions turned in 70 mm, Uncle Tom's cabin (Onkel Toms Hut) with Mylène Demongeot and Herbert Lom (1965), and the Congress has fun (Der Kongreß amüsiert sich) with Lilli Palmer, Curd Jürgens, Paul Meurisse and Francoise Arnoul (1966), will unfortunately not be great successes.
On the other hand and more surprising, it is at the origin of the scenario of a successful film of Louis de Funès, the Man orchestrates , carried out by Serge Korber (1970).
Géza von Radványi will complete its career with a modest production carried out in its fatherland, Circus Maximus (1980).
