Géraniol

The géraniol , also called rhodinol , is a alcohol terpenic unsaturate. It is also a Monoterpène. It constitutes a major part of the pink Huile of and Palmarosa. It is also present in the essential oils of Géranium, Citron and Citronnelle.

Its odor of pink is usually used in Parfumerie, in particular to create the Parfum S like the fishing, the Framboise, the Pamplemousse, the red apple, the plum, the orange, the Citron, the Pastèque, the Ananas and the Myrtille.

One can also use this molecule as Répulsif of Insecte S. Although it drives out the Moustique S, Mouche S, Cancrelat S, Fourmi S and the Tique S, it is produced by the Abeille S to help them to mark the Fleur S with Nectar and to locate the entry of their Ruche S.

However, it is not proven at present that it has an effect Révulsif on the Insecte S.

Insecticidal Géraniol

It is obtained by distillation split starting from Cympobogon Winterianus Jowitt, and in this case incorporated in a polymer, or put in aqueous solution. One obtains excellent repulsive and insecticidal obtained starting from natural sources.

Incorporated in a standard polymer polyamide, to slow salting out, one comes to note that breadth Géraniol made it possible to eliminate the vestimentary mites over one long duration going up to one year. The gas phase, dehydrating eggs and the larvae. A report/ratio of laboratory tce to Rebated joint France, ordered by the company Fulltec France, shows this effectiveness. over one one year period.

In a report/ratio of the LHS one notes that an insecticide containing géraniol, makes it possible to choke the insects and to dehydrate them while acting on Chitin. Tests carried out with the Meeting under control of Cirad and CNRS show that this insecticide, is undoubtedly the best larvicide and ovocide currently available

Repulsive:

One also finds it in bracelets of protection against the hematophagous insects, and of the tests carried out by the medical college of Senegal showed its effectiveness during several weeks.

In a ratio of 1994, emitted by five large companies of manufacturing Cigarette S, the géraniol is listed among the 599 additives, to improve savor. The géraniol and other additives can be found naturally in the Tabac matured well.

Into acid solution, the géraniol is transformed into Alpha-terpineol, a cyclic terpene.
