Géo Voumard
The pianist of Jazz Romand Géo Voumard was born the December 2nd 1920 with Bienne (Suisse).
Child of a family of clock making Jurassic, Géo Voumard studied the music in his family and follow-up of the studies of architecture in Technicum de Bienne. He occurs as a public as of the sixteen years age. In 1944, it becomes the pianist-arranger of the full orchestra of Hazy Osterwald and starts collaborations with the radios of the country. It founds its own trio in 1948 and carries out several rounds in Suisse and Europe. Radio Lausanne engages it in 1952 in the capacity as pianist, guide and type-setter. He associates his name with the success of several emissions: Tuesday the guy , the yellow jersey of the song , free Road , Jazz-everywhere . In 1966, it is named responsible for the sector “varieties, entertainment, animation and jazz”. In 1969, he becomes chief of the department animation and entertainment. It occupies this function until in 1983.
In 1956 it gains the first edition of the Concours Eurovision of the song with Lugano with Refrain , a song coécrite with Emile Gardaz and interpreted by Lys Assia.
