Future
The future is a simple tense of the Conjugaison of the French verbs. It belongs to the indicative mode and gets busy to express an action to come in an unquestionable way.
One can also employ it for an assumption, the assumption having then a stronger probability than when one employs the Conditionnel. It is coupled with the present like the conditional one is coupled with the imperfect one.
-
“If I gain with the lottery, I will buy a large house in the countryside. ” (present + future)
- “If I gained with the lottery, I would buy a large house in the countryside. ” (imperfect + conditional present)
(the first sentence gets busy when one has just bought the ticket, the second can be employed whereas one does not even play)
One speaks then about “future with modal value of conditional”, criticized expression because caused makes some by the statute of mode given to the conditional one.

Formation of the French future
It is not by chance that the terminations agree with the form of the present of verb to have . The future Latin was given up by the Romans in their familiar language at the time imperial and it was replaced by a combination of the Infinitif and present of the verb habere , for example in the sentence of Augustinus: Petant aut not petant venire habet. (Requesting or not requesting, it will come.)
Indeed, the future French is resulting from the periphrastic Futur Latin ( habeo cantare , reversed in cantare habeo , gave cantare have , then by fusion will sing ), this for all the people except the first and second people of the plural, which received a different treatment.
For these people, the future would be chantereins and chantereiz if they had undergone the same transformations. Actually, the contemporary form of the future comes from an analogy of the flexional Morphème S with those of the present of the code chant' ons' , chant' ez .
