Futalongkosaurus

Futalognkosaurus is a kind of Titanosaure S whose first representative was described in 2007. Its fossils were found in the province of Neuquén in Argentine in 2000.

The origin of the name of the kind is derived from the local indigenous dialect Mapudungun. It must be marked insane-your-length-koh-saurus ; futa means “giant”, lognko “chief”.

The species-type of this kind is Futalognkosaurus dukei , a Dinosaure Herbivore measuring from 32 to 34 meters length and weighing nearly 8 tons, which lived approximately 87 million years ago.

The discoverers of the fossils defined new a Clade for the group containing Futalognkosaurus and Mendozasaurus common , their ancestors and their descendants, which it called Lognkosauria.
