- the stop of the magnetic field of the Earth which is at the base of the scenario of film, corresponds to a real fear. Indeed, according to Doctor Sten Odenwald, of the University Harvard: " If the magnetic field of the Earth deteriorated abruptly? As that arrives about every 250.000 years, the consequences would be spectacular. However, the physicists started already to observe a weakening of the terrestrial magnetic ray, and are unaware of if it is about a momentary phenomenon or harbinger of events infinitely more dramatiques" .
- the film caused very great reserves as for its scientific and technical aspects. For example, for Roland Lehoucq, Fusion show design erroneous of laws of the physics of the ridiculous technical exploits and scientific pure fabrications . In the same way, according to the IMDb, the course of sciences of the Earth of Université of the Colombia-British (EOSC 310) uses film as educational tools by analyzing the whimsical scientific designs on which it is based.
- numerical effects strong present in film with regard to particularly the scenes " catastrophes" , were realized by three European countries: France, England and Italy.
