Fushimi Inari taisha
is a sanctuary Shinto dedicated to the goddess Inari, located at Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, Japan.
This sanctuary is especially known for its thousands of Torii Vermillon forming a way on the hill on which the temple is built. These torii is for the majority of the gifts made by private individuals, families or companies with the goddess Inari. The name of the givers is often reproduced on the amount of the torii .
The Inari goddess represents the guard of the Céréale S, more particularly of the Riz and it was thus historically associated with the richness, which can explain the presence of these thousands of torii .
The sanctuary drains million visitors for the festivals of end of the year.
The sanctuary appears in the film Mémoires of Geisha left in 2005.
