Fury (video game)

A fury indicates a special blow particularly devastator in the video games of combat. The term (it seems specifically French) and the concept appeared for the first time in the first opus of Art off Fighting left in 1992 although the majority of people wrongly allot their paternity to the second opus of the series Fatal Fury left a few months later, then the concept was copied in almost all the plays of combat. At Capcom, furies are introduced into Super Street Fighter II Turbo .

The characteristic of such a blow is not to be able, generally, being carried out of many times. The player has a bar in general representing the “capital” power, irritation, or despair of his character, who is incremented during the combat as this last inflicts or receives damage. When the gauge is full, the player must carry out a handling longer and more complex than for the other actions in order to start a flood of blows on his adversary.

Animations of furies are often unrealistic, making it possible to the character to carry out superhuman movements on the totality of the screen and accompanied by many special effects. Certain plays, the such series Marvel vs. Capcom , deliver a representation exaggerated to the extreme of it (it is sometimes difficult to distinguish which is which with the screen) which made part of their success.
