Furnace bridge of Consus
The Autel of Consus ( Macaw Consi ) is bound by the tradition to the celebration of the Plays in the honor of Consus (compare to Neptune) during which, at the time of Romulus, the Enlèvement of Sabines took place. The worship is thus very old and it was about an old Italic divinity.
The furnace bridge underground, was located at the IIIe century " close to the terminals murcians " , i.e. in the south-east of the Circus Maximus, in the valley of Murcia, between the Palatine and the Aventin. It marked on this side the limit of the first Pomœrium.
This furnace bridge underground and was covered, except at the time of the Consualia, the August 21st and the December 15th.
