Funeral

Funeral (burial) is the first album of the Canadian group The Arcade Fire, published in September 2004 by the independent label Merge Records. It was accommodated by a great enthusiasm in Canada, in the U.S.A. then in Europe. He was then regarded as the best album rock'n'roll of the year 2004 by many specialist. David Bowie with the listening of the first opus of Arcade Fire, sank on his official site to warn his fans that the best album rock'n'roll since years had just left. " Funeral" is an album which mixes intimism (" Tunnel" , " 7 Kettles" , " In the Backseat") and universal anthem (" Power Out" , " Wake Up" , " Rebellion"). The words are magnifiquements poetic, and always full with a pain which make all their charm.

The members of Arcade Fire baptized the album in reference to the deaths of certain close relations during the recording. These circumstances also influenced several their songs, in particular a year without light and In the Backseat .
