Funds European of investment
The Funds European of investment (FEI), created in 1994, is the subsidiary company of the European Banque of investment (EIB) specialized in the improvement of the economic growth and the alleviation of unemployment in the European Union. The FEI supports in particular SME (Small and medium-size companies) by the contribution of equities at funds of Capital risk or by agreements with the banks financing of SME.
Composition and operation
The operation of the FEI is based on a partnership between the European Banque of investment, the European commission and of the financial institutions of the various Member States of the European Union.
It is made up:
- of a General meeting of the shareholders
- of a financial Committee
- of a Board of trustees
Field of intervention
The action of the FEI extends to the 27 Member States from the European Union like to the countries applying for accession (Croatia, Turkey, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein).It intervenes mainly to support:
- of the projects of infrastructures in particular as regards transport, energy and telecommunications.
- SME of the sector of industry and the trade
