Fulmar
The fulmars (the Fulmarus ) are gregarious marine birds, nesting in large colonies on rock cliffs. The body is of a pure white, the top of the wings presents several nuances of gray. It is distinguished from the gulls or the seagulls mainly by its flight which brings it closer more of the birds to open sea: one often sees it describing large circles while planing, being based alternatively on one or the others of his wings.
The boreal fulmar niche on the French coasts, a remarkable site of observation in the Finistere is the reserve of the Cape Sizun.
The largest surface of nesting of the species in British Isles is in the archipelago of Saint-Kilda, more precisely in the islands of Boreray, Stac Lee and Stac year Armin, with close to: 70000 couples.
