Full Moon Party

The Full Moon Party is one of the most known festivals in the world and of Thailand. It is besides on the beach of Haad Rin to the point of the island of KB Pha Ngan, an island of the Golfe of Thailand, which it is held, to each full moon as its name indicates it, every month of the year. Most important Full Moon Party are often in high season when they can gather nearly 20.000 people. The first evening of this type began approximately 18 years ago but nobody knows the date exactly. It lasts until midday approximately, it is the after with the bar " Backyard" with the other end of the beach to finish the day. Recommended to the music lovers electronics (House, Drum and Low, Psychological trance, etc…), one can find also much other styles.

Polemic

With time, Full Moon Party attracted more and more people, which caused, for these illegal evenings, of corruption, an increase in the drug trafficking and a growing pollution. However the government Inhabitant of Thailand has very had for a few years taken this problem with serious since the death of an young girl per overdose. That results in a strong police presence which remains however discrete not to sully the festive aspect with the event.

In general the dealers have as a practice to denounce with the police officers the people to which they have just sold drug. Once apprehended, the purchaser sees himself confiscating the product astounding and sees himself proposing by the policeman to pay strong a " amende" in liquid. The dealer recovers then his goods and touches part of " the amende".

Alcohol

During Full Moon Party and in general on Haad Rin, the most current way to consume alcohol is the " bucket" who generally consists of a bottle of alcohol, one or more quills of soda and straws the whole sold in a bucket. Attention has to check well that the bottle was not before open (to check the seal on the level of the stopper) because it happens that certain not very scrupulous salesmen less expensive replace the contents of the bottle by alcohol even of other sometimes dangerous products.
