Fukui

Fukui (福井市, fukuishi ) is a city Japan, capital of the Préfecture of Fukui.

History

The city was founded on April 1st 1889.
The city was destroyed by twice: in 1945 by the bombardments and in 1948 by an earthquake.

Geography

In 2006 the city had a population of 271,497 inhabitants and a surface of 536.17 km ².
