Fujian

The Fujian (福建, Pinyin: Fújiàn, produces fortune; EFEO: Insane-kien ; Lagging-Gilles: Fu-dog ) is a coastal province located at the South-east of the China.

Many Taiwanese is originating in this area and always speaks a dialect about Fujian born at the 10th century and resulting from the minnanhua (闽南话, language of the south of the river Min ), Chinese medieval.

In French, his inhabitants are called the Fukiénois .

The province also has with Xiamen, one of the four special economic zones (ZES) founded in the Années 1980 by the Chinese government.

Geography and climate

Fujian is a mountainous region including one great part is difficult access, except the coastal towns. The economic activity is concentrated besides on the coasts.

The province enjoys a subtropical climate, with very hot and wet summers and soft winters (except in the mountainous regions where the winter can be very cold). The Mousson settles June at August and brings typhoons and torrential rains.
