The river Fuji (富士川, Fujikawa or Fujigawa ) is a river which runs Préfecture of Yamanashi in direction of the Préfecture of Shizuoka in Japan. It is 128 km long and drains a basin of 3.990 km ². It is one of the three most powerful rivers of Japan with the Mogami and the Kuma.
The river takes its source in the Mont Nokogiri in the North-West of Yamanashi under the name of Rivière Kamanashi, and Miss her water evec the Rivière Fuefuki with Ichikawamisato. At this point in time it takes the name of Fuji river. Then, it runs out by circumventing the west coast of the Mont Fuji and thrown in bay of Suruga in the Pacific Ocean with the town of Fuji.
Daimyo Takeda Shingen built Shingen' S banks (信玄堤, Shingen-zutsumi ) along Kamanashi, which makes it possible water to flood buffer zones to control the damage. The river transport thrived to the opening of the layout of railroad Fuji Minobu (called now JR Central Minobu Line) in 1923. The river divides Japan by Fréquence S electric (50 Hertz in the east, and 60 in the west).
The train at high speed Shinkansen crossing the river on background of the Fuji Mount is a scene icon representative of Japan.
