Fuinhas was creates in 1527. The old name of this village is Funha .

In Portugal there is a mountainous solid mass which is called Serra da Estrela ( Massif Stars ). Fuinhas is with the foot of this mountain.

Fact part of the districte of Guarda, the council of Fornos de Algodres.

Demography

There are approximately 200 inhabitants, for a density of 17,8 hab/km. The summer good number of emigrants come from the four corners from the world: France, Brazil, the United States, Germany, etc

Lifestyle

People who live there are primarily workmen and farmers. They cultivate potatoes there and some exploit Olive lines and Forêt S of pines. Specificity is the membership of a AOC of a cheese of ewe and red Wine.
