Frucourt

Frucourt is a common French, located in the department of the Somme and the area Picardy.

Geography

Established in the West of the Department, the crossing of the North-South axis connecting Limeux to Oisemont by the secondary Road " RD 93" and of the East-West axis connecting Hallencourt and Doudelainville.

Monuments

  • Mill

Strengthened mill built on the heights in 1641, entirely out of bricks, it was used to grind the grain but also point of observation.

At the time of an attack, a breach made it possible to pour ebullient oil on the enemy.

The width of its walls is of 1,80 m at the base of the tower.

It carries the armorial bearings of the lord of the castle of Frucourt (Monthomer family).

Registered voter with the Inventory of the Historic buildings since April 17th, 1931, like on the Road of the Mills of the Valley of Bresles and Somme.

It is located at the south of the village on the road of Cisterns.

In June 2004, it was entirely renovated, and also received the price of the contest " Ribbons of Patrimoine".
