Frossay

Frossay is a common French, located in the department of the Loire-Atlantique and the area Pays of the Loire.

The common belongs to the historical Brittany, in the traditional country of the Pays of Retz and in the historical country of the Nantes Pays. The inhabitants of the commune name the Frossetains and Frossetaines .

Geography

Frossay is a rural district, which belongs to the community of common South-Estuary with Saint-Viaud, Saint-Father-in-Retz, Paimbœuf, Corsept and Saint-Brevin-the-Pines. It has a rich and diversified inheritance.

Frossay is located at 20 kilometers of Saint-Brévin-the-Pines and Pornic, both larger seaside resorts of the Country of Retz.

Frossay has many martyrdoms. Close to the borough, that of Fuie is one of most beautiful.

In the borough, places martyrdom, is set up the stele of the aviator Alexis Maneyrol who was world champion of gliding.

  • Wood-Péan: altered with XIXe, it is a large building of angle with vault, whose door is decorated of a pediment with armorié escutcheon. Refractory priests took refuge there during the Revolution. The Wood-Péan vault dates from the XVIIe century, the manor of XVIe century.

  • Joseph Fouché: The large parents of Joseph Fouché, minister of Napoleon, born with the Pilgrim, were all two originating in Frossay.
