Frizon
Frizon is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine.
Its inhabitants is called Frizonnais or Tambois.
Geography
To 14 km of Épinal, the village is built in stage on a plate dominating left bank of the the Moselle, sprinkled by the Avière. One distinguishes there Frizon-High and Frizon-Low . The two parts of the village are shared by the brook of Poinsot.
History
The Roman presence at summer confirmed in 1834 by the discovery of a gold medal with the type of Tibère. The village of Frizon appears under the name of Frezonis Villa in a title of 1104 registered voter to the priory of Belval.
The files reveal, dated February 25th, 1574, a " dénombrement" of Claude de Bussignécourt, lord of Damelevières of what it had " lez High and Low Frizon".
Destroyed by the Swedes at the time of the Guerre Thirty Year old, devastated by the troops of Louis XIV a little later old the Frizonium Villa counted nothing any more but one about fifty inhabitants at the XVIIe century.
The duke of Lorraine Stanislas Leszczyński made there build a relay of hunting for the XVIIIe century between Frizon-High and Frizon-Low; this one became a restaurant.
April 27th, 1895, the three bridges of the village were carried by the wave of consecutive water to the rupture of the dam Bouzey and one counted four victims.
July 11th, 1984, a downward Rafale blew on the commune causing of many property damages but no victim was to regret. The forest of Frizon carries still today the traces of this event from which she suffered much.
Agriculture and economy
In the middle of the 19th century, the territory has a surface of 1.175 hectares including 615 out of arable lands, 106 in meadows, 10 in vines, 398 out of wood, 14 in gardens, orchards and chenevières. L was produced there wheat, rye, oats, potatoes, wine and much of fodder. 3 mills with grains were noted: Ate, the Pond, Randeney. A tilery occupied 6 workmen. It was held trade to with it of grains, cattle and fodder.Curiosities
- neogothic Saint Martin's day Church Frizon-High and its chorus of XVIe. Its bell-tower is located at the altitude of 376 meters above the sea level.

Administration
Demography
In 1710 the village counted 50 inhabitants including 19 boys. In year XII, there were 538 inhabitants to reach 580 inhabitants in 1830 and 643 at the end of first half of the century. In 1907, Frizon counted 639 inhabitants.
