Friedrich Ludwig Jahn

Friedrich Ludwig Jahn (August 11th 1778 with Lanz, October 15th 1852 with Freybourg) was a German teacher, promoter of the gymnastics and Germanic nationalism. It is often called Turnvater Jahn , that is to say it father of the gymnastics , for its contributions with this sport. The movement of Turnverein which it founded had a intellectual influence on the genesis of the Nazism and the Sokol in Tchèquie.
