Friedrich Hund
Friedrich Hund (February 4th 1896 with Karlsruhe; † March 31st 1997 with Göttingen) was a German physicist .
After studies in mathematics, physics and geography with Marburg and Göttingen, Friedrich Hund were lecturer in Physics with Göttingen and professor with Rostock (1927), Leipzig (1929), Jena (1946), Frankfurt/Main (1951) and again in Göttingen to leave 1957. It also made party of l´équipe of Niels Bohr (1926) in Copenhagen and took part in several conferences in Harvard in 1928.
In 1925, it will highlight an empirical rule in atomic physics which will bear its name: the Rule of Hund. In 1926/27, Friedrich Hund discovers and describes for isomers this qu´on will call later l´ Tunnel effect. During its university career, it will have published more than 250 articles.
In molecular and spectroscopic physics one will distinguish after work from F. Hund the various cases from (A) with (E) from coupling from Hund. One characterizes thus since in quantum mechanics, the various forms snuff by the kinetic couples of moments (vectorial addition): rotation, electronic spin and trajectory of the total kinetic moment. In 1974 F. Hund received the Otto-Hahn Price of physics-Chemistry
