Friedrich Adolf von Kalckreuth

Friedrich Adolf von Kalckreuth (* February 22nd 1737 with Sotterhausen - † June 10th 1818 with Berlin), was a Prussian Feld-maréchal.

He enters to the regiment of the Bodyguards in 1752, and in 1758 he is named executive officer, aide-de-camp of the prince Henri of Prussia, brother of Frederic II of Prussia, with which he has is useful in all the battle of the seven year old Guerre. It distinct particularly with the Battle from Freiberg (the September 29th 1762), and Frederic Large the promotes it Major.

The different ones with the prince Henri from Prussia separate them in 1766, and during several years Kalckreuth lives in a semi retirement. The War of succession of Bavaria the recall and it is useful as a colonel, and with the accession of Frederic-Guillaume II of Prussia, it regains the favors of the court. It is distinguished like Major-general in the invasion from Holland in 1787, and in 1792 it is made count and Lieutenant-general. Under the orders of the duke of Brunswick it takes a remarkable share in the Bataille of Valmy in 1792, in the head office of Mainz in 1793 and with the Bataille of Kaiserslautern in 1794.

In 1806 during countryside of Prussia of Napoleon he knows various fortunes: With the Battle of Auerstadt and in the unhappy retirement of the Prussian. In 1807 during the Head office of Gdańsk, it resists during 78 days against the French of the marshal Lefebvre, with a competence and an energy much larger than it had not made proof the previous year. It is promoted Feld-maréchal at once afterwards, and takes part in the negotiations of the Traité of Tilsit.

He east dies as governor of Berlin in 1818.
