Frevo

The frevo is a esque Musical genre Carnaval and a Danse of the Brésil, mainly played and danced in the North-East of the country (in the State of the Pernambouc).

Musical genre

A Orchestre of frevo is composed of a section of copper S and of a rhythm section, a little with the manner of the Banda S of the south-west of the France.

The copper section includes/understands at least a trumpet, a Trombone and a tuba, but can also accommodate Saxophone S and Clarinette S.

The rhythm section is mainly made up of a clear Caisse and a Surdo.

The pieces merry and involving are played on a Tempo endiablé, the orchestra connecting its repertory mainly made up of standards of the kind at any speed. There is generally no song on these pieces.

Dance

The frevo is a rather individual lifting dance, where virtuosity disputes it with the distorsions. The dancers help themselves, to hold in balance, of a Parapluie with the traditional colors of festival: red, green, yellow, blue and white. Its origin comes from the umbrella which people at the time of the brawls between blocks of carnival used. Its use is since completely peaceful.

The goal of the frevo: not to touch the feet per ground…
