The teams of Bulldogs take part in the university competitions organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Fresno State belongs to division Western Athletic Conference since 1992 after having evolved/moved of 1929 with 1988 in California Collegiate Athletic Association then in Big West Conference of 1988 with 1992.

Having in particular a solid equips with American football, Bulldogs also illustrate themselves in Softball with the profit of national title NCAA in 1998.
