History

Origins with the fall of the Old-Mode

The village could be noted sometimes Fresne-Tilloloy (without " s") (as in 1753, contrary to the “ Chart of Cassini ” of 1757, or more recently, in 1933, in the “ administrative and statistical directory of the Sum ”). The " S " would be due to an administrative error of the department and registered voter to the bulletin of the laws of 1801.

Étymologiquement, Fresnes and Tilloloy were probably planted places of Frêne S and Tilleul S.

The C-W communication “ Fresnum ” is attested in 1207.

Fresnes-Tilloloy must be of origin (Gallic and Gallo-Roman) since there were found remains of foundations, stones of size, attesting constructions having existed formerly along the way Roman known as “ fitted of Brunehaut ” which separates today the locality from the borough of Oisemont.

Various localities, inter alia " Malacquis" known as the “ Fief ” point out the feudal period , but one knows nothing precis over this time.

In 1346, Edouard III, king of England, after having left the old people's home of Oisemont where it was placed, had to cross Fresnes-Tilloloy, accompanied by the traitor Gobin Agache who led it to the ford of “ Blanquetaque ”.

In 1459, Fresnes and Tilloloy had each one a vicar which depended on the parish church of Oisemont.

At the beginning of the 16th century, Jean de Béthencourt was lord of Fresnes.

According to the consent of 1660, the Seigneurie of Fresnes consisted of “ a castle, with high and low court, dovecote, stables, barns, sheep-folds, garden, pourpris, wood, small wild rabbit and grazing grounds, the whole containing 80 newspapers, and 135 ground newspapers. It moving was évêché of Amiens. ”

The seigniory of Tilloloy raised, it, of the châtellenie of Bailleul and belonged to the election of Amiens.

Since the Revolution of 1789

Until 1789 the village was governed by the Royaume of France.

In 1790, it is managed by the Département of the Somme.

Tilloloy amalgamates with Fresnes between 1790 and 1794 to constitute the commune of Fresnes-Tilloloy. It should be noted that Tilloloy was also written in 1373: Thillolay.

In 1793 becomes municipality, District of Amiens and belonged to the canton of Oisemont.

The school of Fresnes-Tilloloy was created in 1797.

In 1801, the village integrates the districts of Amiens.

The commune does not appear to be tested during the invasions of 1814 - 1815, but in 1870-1871, the Germans occupied the village from February 17th to March 9th. Their requisitions, as well in kind as out of money, rose with 7.500 francs.

One deplored only one victim among young people having fought during this terrible year: it disappeared without it being known where it perishes.

The old church, enclosée in a private property, was demolished and rebuilt elsewhere in 1870. A new school, built in 1880, replaced the old exiguous and unhealthy school room. The majority of the old thatched cottages disappeared to make place with dwellings “ if not elegant, at least comfortable ”. Thus during the XIXe century, Fresnes-Tilloloy was embellished much, that the wellbeing of its inhabitants could increase and that the instruction developed considerably.

In 1899, the commune counted three former servicemen medal-holders (who had made respectively the campaigns of the Crimea, of Italy and the Mexico), among a population of which the number was stationary since a half century; it is in 1866 (290 inhabitants) that it was more raised.
