20 minutes : Schibsted, a Norwegian group, launched this free daily newspaper to France at the beginning of 2002. It is diffused with 870.000 specimens in France (8 editions) including 510.000 specimens in Paris. With 2.160 ", reader million; 20 Minutes" is, in fact, the first daily newspaper general practitioner in term of assistantship.

Striking facts of these last years
- Le Figaro : the Socpresse which publishes the Barber was repurchased by Serge Dassault. The direction was renewed.
- Release : Edouard de Rothschild entered here several months the capital of the title which was in great difficulty. In 2006, Serge July, (one of the founders of Release with Jean-Paul Sartre), which directed the newspaper was led to resign. It was replaced with the presidency of the title by Laurent Joffrin, ex of Release, and former director of the drafting of Nouvel Observateur.
- France Soir : The daily newspaper was initially repurchased by the Egyptian business man Raymond Lakah. After a new financial crisis, on April 12th, 2006, the revival project of the journalist Olivier Rey and the business man Jean-Pierre Brunois is chosen by the Bankruptcy court of Lille. This last is from now on the owner of the title.
The irruption of free, the expansion of Internet, the closing of many sales outlets and other phenomena dangerously disturb the daily press which undergoes a sharp crisis.
