French municipal elections of 1995
The municipal elections of 1995 were held June 11th and 18th of this year, a little more than one month after the presidential election which was gained by Jacques Chirac.

With Marseilles, Jean-Claude Gaudin, of the Republican party, charms the town hall with the left, which had inherited Gaston Defferre it.
- With the Harbor, the RPR Antoine Rufenacht gains the town hall vis-a-vis the communist .
- With Avignon, Marie-Josée Roig, of RPR, gains the town hall, up to that point occupied by the PS.
- With Albi, the RPR Philippe Bonnecarrère replaces the Socialist Michel Castel.
- With Valence, RPR Patrick Labaune replaces the Socialist Rodolphe Pesce.
- With Laval, UDF François d' Aubert replaces the Socialist Yves Patoux.
- With Arras, the UDF Jean-Marie Vanlerenberghe replaces the Socialist Leon Fatous.
- With Béziers, the UDF Raymond Couderc replaces the Socialist Alain Barrau.
- With Tulle, the RPR Raymond-Max Aubert replaces the Communist Jean Combasteil.

With Grenoble, the Socialist Michel Destot occupies the vacant place left by Alain Carignon, blamed in a business of Pot-de-vin S.
- At Rouen, the town hall passes from the UDF to the PS with Yvon Robert.
- With Nimes, the communist Alain Clary benefits from divisions of the right-hand side.
- With Turns, German Jean, of the PS, inflicts a defeat with the gaullist Jean Royer.
- With Arles, the Socialist Michel Vauzelle takes the town hall with the RPR.
- With Worthy-the-Baths, the Socialist Jean-Louis Bianco takes the town hall with the RPR.
National front

Three members of the National front are elected in Provence: Jean-Marie Le Chevallier with Toulon, Jacques Bompard with Orange and Daniel Simonpieri with Marignane. It is the first time that the party of extreme-right-hand side is alone with the head of an executive.

With Paris, Jean Tibéri, designated successor of Jacques Chirac, of which he was the assistant of the town hall since 1977, is elected, but the left PS - MDC gains 6 town halls of districts.
- With Lyon, or Michel Noir, shown Concealment of Abuse of corporate asset, is not represented, it is the former Prime Minister Raymond Barre who carries it.
- With Bordeaux, Alain Juppe, already Prime Minister and president of the RPR, succeeds Jacques Chaban-Delmas.
- With Nice, the city remains between the hands of the right-hand side with Jacques Peyrat, a defector of the FN which beats Jean-Paul Baréty, outgoing mayor RPR.
- With Fatty, Jean-Pierre Leleux (MPF) beats Herve de Fontmichel, mayor UDF outgoing.
- With Cagnes-sur-Mer, Louis Nègre (Various right-hand side) beats Suzanne Sauvaigo, mayor RPR outgoing.
- With the Cannet, Michele Tabarot (UDF) beats Pierre Bachelet, mayor RPR outgoing.
- With Mandelieu it Napoule, Henri Leroy (Various right-hand side) beats Louise Moreau, mayor UDF outgoing.
- With Antibes, Jean Leonetti (UDF), succeeds Pierre Merli (UDF).
