French legislative Elections of 2002
The French legislative elections of the appointed of the XII {{E}} legislature took place the June 9th and June 16th 2002. In accordance with the law in force, the deputies are elected with the majority Uninominal system with two turns, in 577 Circonscription S.
These elections proceeded in the tread of the French presidential Election of 2002, which saw the re-election of Jacques Chirac. Consequently, the line, taken along by the lately created Union for the Presidential majority (later famous Union for a popular movement) easily gained the absolute majority of the seats, at the expense of the old “plural left”, which was to recover from its failure with the first tower of the presidential one.
