French league of American football

The French Ligue of American football (in English NSFL for National Swiss American Football League ) is a regional league French-speaking Switzerland of American football.

It is in 1982 that Cursio Caravati and Massimo Monti create the SFL ( Swiss Football League ). The first team to be born is that of the Lugano Deagulls. In 2006, it n exist qu´ only one allowed official association by the EFAF: the SAFV ( Schweizericher America Football Verband ), which is divided into two senior leagues: the national league has (LNA) and the national league B (LNB).

A championship for the junior teams, divided into two groups, is also set up by the SAFV.

The presence of American football in Switzerland with high level is limited to ten teams (5 in LNA and 5 in LNB). To mitigate the lack of structure and comprehension with respect to the small French clubs, regional league exists since 2004. In 2005, six teams took share at the first season joined, in 2006, by two additional teams.
