French highway A53
In the beginning, it was a section of current the open A8 in 1969 and subjected to toll under the banner of Escota. It was created in order to facilitate the exchanges between the France and the Italy with the detriment of the close N7 which comprised a long and sinuous layout.
It initially existed on only one roadway, it connected Roquebrune to Menton before being connected to the Italian highway network. Its doubling was open in 1970, which made it possible weight-heavy to finally be able to borrow it (what was prohibited before to them).
No other Autoroute of France took again this number to date.
