French highway A11

The highway A11 is a highway which connects Paris to Nantes via Mans and Angers. It is called Océane . The highway that we know today was completed in 1981. The A11 forms part on the network ASF of the WESTERN Zone.

Construction

A11 is unfinished, because the by-pass Angers, envisaged for thirty years, has been in the course of construction. Its opening is envisaged the August 31st 2008. (on 14 km) Gigantic work was undertaken with the construction of a covered trench of almost 2 km to skirt an urban area, as well as the viaduct of 530 m overhanging Maine.
