French federation of camp-site and caravanning

The French federation of camp-site and caravanning (FCC) is an association which gathers the world of the Camping French.

History

  • the origin of the FCC goes back to 1938, with the creation of the French Union of associations of camp-site ( UFAC ) by regrouping of ten French associations made up of a few thousands of campers. An organization made necessary after the boom of the camp-site caused by the introduction of the Paid vacations in France (1936). The mountaineer and speleologist Raymond Gaché are general secretary of the UFAC.
  • In 1939, the UFAC becomes the French federation of Camp-site ( FFDC ). It created the first Insurance Civil responsibility specific to the camp-site. However, name UFAC still seems to exist in 1948.
  • In 1952, the FFDC becomes the French federation of Camp-site and Caravanning (FCC) because of the development of the Caravaning caused by the motorization of the French.

Role and rorganisation

  • the FCC is " the spokesperson of the whole of the campers, caravaneers, camp-site-drivers and users of rental lodgings near the public authorities and the professionals of the tourisme." (according to its official site).
  • the FCC gathers 100 clubs of camp-site (in 2006).
  • the F.F.C.C. is financed mainly by the contributions of its members on line (what is possible since 2001) and of the members of the clubs which are affiliated for him.
