French cantonal elections of 1958
The cantonal elections are held April 20th and 27th 1958.
Results
In a context of governmental crisis, related to the turbid Algerian, these elections confirms the fall of the French Communist party since the Hungarian insurrection of 1956. The radicals (since the failure of the mendesism) and the gaullists lose votes. The victory returns mainly to the popular Republican movement.
