French automobile market in 2004
The French automobile market, a long time morose in 2004, finished on an positive assessment of +0,2% thanks to a good end of the year which enabled him to be maintained above the 2 million, to 2 013 709 sales.
The share of the French marks slightly eroded with sales in fall of 2,3% for a total market share of 58,2%. Citroen drops by 5% because mainly of the breathlessness of the sales of Xsara (- 42%) and of Picasso (- 13%), the C4 having been launched only in December. Peugeot is him drops some by 4%, the 206 and 307 being a little alone in waiting of the 407. Renault is stable thanks to the progression of the Scénic, which marks a progression of 30%.
In the importers, Volkswagen took again its place of leader with a progression of 4% with successes of the Golf and the Touran. Toyota, Ford (with the C-max) and more still BMW posts clear progressions, like marks of less importance such Kia, Daewoo, Volvo, Smart and Suzuki.
