French association of the patients of the thyroid one

The French Association of the patients of thyroid (AFMT) was creates on February 17th 1999 by 6 disappointed patients of silence around the thyroid pathologies. This association answered a strong demand during one year, then it became national. It already received more 100  000 calls and mails and account 2700 members. Association is composed primarily of patients and their close relations.

March 1st 2001, the AFMT, CRIIRAD and 51 patients of thyroid deposit a complaint against X, estimating that the management of the radioactive fallout of the catastrophe of Tchernobyl by the French authorities is at the origin in an addition of pathologies, in particular of Cancer of thyroid the. April 25th, 2002, the AFMT and the CRIIRAD accompany 200 new plaintiffs, which changes the number of complaints to 400.
