French association of mechanics

The French Association of mechanics (AFM) is an association created in 1997 by the union of 17 learned societies and industrialists covering the disciplines of the Mécanique. It allows the division of competences between scientists. It is a place of exchanges between heads of undertakings, engineers, technicians, researchers, teachers, expert mechanics.

The operating process of the AFM, through its scientific and technical groups (GST) and its groups transverse sets of themes (GTT), the organization of days of studies, of congress, the publication of review and newsletters, aims to the transfer of knowledge and more particularly supports the “technology transfer” of research towards the Industrie. It has also the role to represent French mechanics vis-a-vis its counterparts foreign.
