French and international association of animal protection
The French and international Association of animal protection (AFIPA) is a association which fights for the protection and the defense of the animals. Since 2001, it militates against the traffic of Fourrure of the Chien S and Chat S. Supported by many personalities (Corinne Touzet, Liane Foly, Arielle Dombasle, the dalaï LAMA, Joaquin Phoenix…), the AFIPA could obtain a prohibition of marketing, importation and introduction of fur of cat and dog, by a ministerial decree, on January 13rd, 2006.
The AFIPA, chaired by Monique Leroux and directed by Nicolas Biscay, his founder, currently fights to extend this prohibition to the whole of the European Union. Indeed, following an investigation carried out in several countries (Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia…), it is today possible to affirm that a market for the Fourrure cat-like and canine exists indeed inside Europe.
For that, the AFIPA, supported by its godmother, Corinne Touzet, and by Liane Foly in particular launched a petition in line which has just exceeded the 100 000 signatures.
