French Union
The Constitution of 1946 (founder of the Fourth Republic) creates the French Union , which amends of the colonies. L'" Empire " becomes l'" Union française" , and " colony s" " departments and territories of in addition to-mer".
This legal framework abolishes the Code of the indigénat.
The Fifth Republic will make him succeed in 1958 the French Communauté, in accordance with the conclusions of the Conférence of Brazzaville in 1944.

The Outline law of 1956
