The French Radiodiffusion (or RDF ) was a public corporation French in load of the Public service of audio-visual, created on March 23rd 1945 to replace the Radiodiffusion national ( RN ), and replaced by the French Broadcasting-television ( rtf ) on February 9th 1949.
History
After the Second world war and the " war of the ondes" that delivered the BBC and Radio Paris, the French State takes again in hand the organization and the development of the radio and the Télévision in France.March 23rd 1945, an ordinance is promulgated which puts an end to the emission private stations which are nationalized on March 29th, and creates a public corporation, the French Radiodiffusion (RDF), to ensure this absolute monopoly on the radio and television.
The ministry for the Information of the Provisional government of the French Republic, which controls the RDF, sets up new teams, resulting from the Résistance, and undertakes to multiply the transmitters and the relays through France, try expensive which the governments of the IVe République continue as of 1946.
Organization
French Broadcasting (RDF) does not have any autonomy. It is placed under the whole control of the State, in accordance with the ordinance of 1945 on the state monopoly on the national waves.

The RDF is placed under the direct authority of the Minister for Information and does not have any deliberating body.Managing director:

Mission
The RDF is charged to develop and carry out the programs and to diffuse them with the public.
Budget and resources
The budget of the RDF depends entirely on the Ministry for the Information to which it is directly attached. The expenditure is controlled a priori by a Financial Comptroller representing the Minister for Finance. Not a contract, a promotion or the acquisition of a new material are not possible without the acceptance of the Minister for Finance.
Seats
The head office of the RDF was located which occurred of Friedland in the 8 {{E}} district of Paris. The studios, controls and technical premises of television were distributed between 13-15 rue Cognac-Jay in the old studios of Paris-Television.

French Broadcasting included/understood 4 radio stations and 1 television channel.
Radio
- Radio Algiers: statute fixed on November 2nd 1945.
- Paris-Inter launched in 1946.
- Paris Studies launched in November 1947, which becomes Radio Sorbonne/Radio Educational in February 1948.
- Paris IV Grenelle : educational radio autonomous impetus in October 1948.
Television
- RDF French Television diffused on the tape VHF 441 lines black and white. November 20th 1948, the Minister for information, François Mitterrand, fixes by decree the standard of the French network at 819 black and white lines VHF.
Starting from 1947, television starts to be affirmed in the media landscape and within the hearths by the launching of regular programmes of twelve hours per week.
