French Broadcasting-television

The French Broadcasting-Television (or rtf ) was a French national company in load of the Public service of audio-visual, created on February 9th 1949 to replace the French Radiodiffusion ( RDF ). rtf becomes a public corporation related to commercial industrial and on February 4th 1959 and is replaced by the Office of broadcasting French television ( ORTF ) on June 27th 1964 (law n° 64-621).

Organization

French Broadcasting-Television (RTF) does not have any autonomy. It is placed under the whole control of the State, in accordance with the ordinance of 1945 on the state monopoly on the national waves. December 31st 1953, the National Assembly vote a five years development plan for the television in which an amendment founds the monopoly of programming and production of the rtf. December 21st 1960 the finance law reaffirms the monopoly " of emission and exploitation " rtf.

The rtf is placed under the direct authority of the Minister for Information and does not have any deliberating body. Managing directors:

Budget and resources

The budget of the rtf is directly poured by the Ministry for the Information on which it entirely depends. The expenditure is controlled a priori by a Financial Comptroller representing the Minister for Finance. Not a contract, a promotion or the acquisition of a new material are not possible without the acceptance of the Minister for Finance. The new statute of public corporation related to commercial industrial and granted in 1959 enables him all the same to have an autonomous budget.

July 30th 1949, a law is voted by the Parliament taxing the television receivers (3000 old francs).

May 24th 1951, publicity without mark or " collective propaganda of interest général" is authorized with the public radio (it will be introduced on television in 1959).

Seats

The head office of the rtf was located which occurred of Friedland in the 8 {{E}} district of Paris. The studios, controls and technical premises of television were distributed between 13-15 rue Cognac-Jay and the Hillock-Chaumont where vast modern studios built in 1954 in the place of the old studios Gaumont produced the near total of the diffused programs.
