French Association of standardization
The French Association of standardization ( AFNOR ) is the official organization French of standardization. He is member of the International organization of standardization (ISO) auprès of which he represents the France as ANSI represents the the United States there.
AFNOR was created in 1926; it is placed under the supervision of the ministry in charge of industry. It counts approximately: 3000 adherent companies.
AFNOR publishes the collection of the standards NF which identifies usually a document by the form NF L CC-CCC ,
. L being a letter representing the class,
. C being a figure.
The European standards published by AFNOR are form: NF IN DC. ;
the international ones published by AFNOR: NF ISO DC. ;
international recoveries in the European collection: NF IN ISO DC. .
