French-speaking Christian Radios

French-speaking Christian Radios ( RCF ) is a network of radio S Christian of French language whose national headquarter is with Lyon. It was created under the impulse of the conference of the bishops of France in 1986 by using average the techniques of radio operator diocese of Lyon Radio Fourvière created in 1982. It consists of 56 radios of proximity. The network has of a national drafting and a team of journalists in each one of its local antennas. RCF retransmet also the French-speaking newspaper of Radio Vatican. RCF is the first network of associative radios in France and the first network of Christian radios French-speaking.

In spite of its religious membership, the programs devoted to the religion account for only 30% of the time of antenna, the remainder being devoted to music, emissions of company and information. Less than 50 years represent half of the listeners. 39% of the listeners are not practitioners. This radio positions like a radio general practitioner. Its statute of private associative radio enables him to have only subsidies. The resources of the station come from the partnerships but especially from the gifts of the listeners. RCF emits in Europe via the satellite and France and Belgium via local radios affiliated to the network.

RCF is also present in Belgium at Brussels, Bastogne Liege, Namur and in the Walloon Brabant.

It is with Belgium that initials RCF passed from Christian Radios to France to French-speaking Christian Radios.

RCF Liege

It is the second station in Belgium after that of Brussels. The programs are the same ones but unhookings inhabitant of Li2ege exist. Monday to Friday, a regional newspaper inhabitant of Li2ege is proposed with 18:30. RCF also launched out in Namur and has a relay which retransmet only French programs in Bastogne. All lately (June 2007), RCF obtained a transmitter to Ottignies-Leuwen-the-New to cover the province of the Walloon Brabant (97.6 MHz)
